The most common recipe goes something like this: a shot of tequila, a shot, or slightly less of freshly squeezed lime juice, and a half or a third shot of triple sec. Yuck. It may be “traditional” but it is FOUL. And, using better ingredients like premium tequila and Cointreau or Grand Marnier instead of Triple Sec doesn’t help it much. I came across a few sites that said you should add egg whites to get a nice foam. Egg whites. Are you kidding me? There are an unbelievable number of bad margarita recipes out there, and over the course of weeks we tried many of them before we finally created our own recipe that tastes as good as the margaritas we remembered so fondly.
